QUICK REFERENCE SCHEDULE

Festival Basics: The 2023 Secretariat Festival takes place Nov 10-12 in the heart of horse country in Paris, Kentucky just outside of Lexington. The weekend offers a picture-perfect autumn backdrop where fans can gather to share the legacy of Secretariat and experience the Bluegrass region’s rich Thoroughbred heritage.

Directions: Paris, Kentucky is located just north of Lexington. Driving east or west on I-75/64, take Paris Pike Exit 113 heading north on US Highway 27/68 approximately 18 miles to downtown Paris. Secretariat Festival Headquarters are located at 530 Main St. directly across from the Secretariat Park.

Admission and Parking:  Free admission 10:00 a.m – 6:00 p.m to general Festival activities located along Main. St. Click Here for Complete Parking Information.

Lexington Accommodations: A diverse selection of hotels can be found in Lexington including Best Western Paris, Clarion Hotel Lexington, Griffin Gate Marriott, Embassy Suites Newtown Pike, Ramada Lexington North Hotel, and the Fairfield Inn Lexington North. Lexington’s Blue Grass Airport, located across the road from Keeneland Race Course, is serviced by Allegiant Air, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines.

 

FRIDAY, NOV. 10 – Secretariat Festival Activities

Keeneland Race Course – 4201 Versailles Road in Lexington – The Keeneland Pavilion hosting the November Breeding Stock Sale and Sporting Art Gallery Auction opens daily at 10:00 a.m. Lane’s End farm motor coach tour departures are as follows:

SATURDAY, NOV. 11 – Paris, Kentucky Main St. Corridor Activities and Farm Tour Departures

  •   8:40 a.m. – Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa Tour – motor coach departs from the Paris Bourbon County Farmer’s Market at the corner of 8th and High St.
  •   9:00 a.m. – Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa Tour begins – 1027 Stoney Point Road
  • 10:00 a.m. – “Welcome Home” Parade – Main. St.
  • 12:00 p.m. – Secretariat Park Dedication and Monument Historic Unveiling – Main St.
  • 1:00 p.m. – Jockey Signing with Pat Day, Mike Manganello and Sandy Hawley – 600 Main St.
  • 1:45 p.m. – Spendthrift Farm Tour – motor coach departs from the Paris Bourbon County Farmer’s Market at the corner of 8th and High St.
  • 2:15 p.m. – Spendthrift Farm Tour begins – 884 Iron Works Pike
  • 3:15 p.m. – Fan Forum: An Artist’s Vision with Jocelyn Russell, Jaime Corum, and Lisa Palombo – 600 Main St.
  • 5:00 p.m. – Secretariat Festival Silent Auction closes
  • 7:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. – Big Red Gala – Main St.
  • 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. – Secretariat Festival Silent Auction – 600 Main St.
  • 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Thoroughbred Marketplace
  • 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – Live Music at the Team Kentucky Concert Stage

SUNDAY, NOV. 12 – Farm Tours and Family Fun Sunday

Farm Tours – The Keeneland Pavilion hosting the November Breeding Stock Sale and Sporting Art Gallery Auction opens at 10:00 a.m. Lane’s End Farm motor coach tour departures from the Keeneland grounds are as follows:

  • 12:00 p.m. – Old Friends Farm Tour – attendees provide their own transportation to farm located at 1841 Paynes Depot Road in Georgetown

Paris, Kentucky – Main St. Corridor Activities:

  •   8:30 a.m.  – Winner’s Circle 5K and 10K runs
  • 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Thoroughbred Marketplace
  • 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – Live Music at the Team Kentucky Concert Stage
  • 12:15 p.m. – Claiborne Farm Tour – motor coach departs from the Paris Bourbon County Farmer’s Market at the corner of 8th and High St.
  • 12:30 p.m. – Claiborne Farm Tour begins – 703 Winchester Road
