I could write a book, there is so much to say about Penny Chenery and her influence on thoroughbred horse racing. But this "Guestbook" is not meant for writing a book. So just let me say that we all miss you, and that we all loved you, and that I can't believe it's been a year today since your passing. Like Secretariat, you were a one-of-a-kind! I will watch the Secretariat movie (again) tonight in your honor. Please enjoy the peace that you so richly deserve.

My name is Tim Dean and I am without ANY DOUBT the # (1) SECRETARIAT'S FAN EVER to be born...I feel in love with "BIG RED" at the early age of 13 yrs old, that was in 1973 when SECRETARIAT was in his TRIPLE CROWN Campaign... I have been a "BIG RED " SECRETARIAT researcher now for some time...
Now, to my next issue...I have been doing extensive research on the progeny/off spring of SECRETARIAT... SECRETARIAT'S first foal was a thoroughbred Appaloosa named FIRST SECRETARY who foaled on November 15, 1974... Also, to me, SECRETARIAT WAS/IS THE (BEST) thoroughbred racehorse that's (EVER) LIVED OR THAT WILL (EVER) BE FOALED (BORN) BAR NONE !!! Lastly, for ALL those SECRETARIAT FANS reading this, I encourage YOU to find out and research all you can about "BIG RED " SECRETARIAT...I want to say hello to and Ronnie Turcotte the BEST JOCKEY EVER TO BE BORN in my opinion...

Let me add my respects to Eddie Sweat today on his birthday...August 29, 1939. He would have been 79. He was in the right place at the right time with the right God given skills. What a lucky man he was!

Happy Birthday to Eddie Sweat...the best groom that ever lived! You and Secretariat had a bond that will never be broken...I'm sure you are "rubbing him down" in Heaven! I wish I had gotten the chance to meet you and tell you how much I respected you for your grace and horsemanship in how you handled all the horses in your care, especially Secretariat. You gave them respect, and they returned it back to you. I remember hearing that whenever you went to visit Secretariat at Claiborne, he always remembered you with a nicker and came right up to you. He missed I know you missed him. Others who visited were just faces in the crowd...but not you. The love between you two was evident and you were a huge part in the Secretariat success were his rock, his base, his security. You will always have my deepest respect.

Happy birthday Triple Crown winning jockey Ron Turcotte. I'm a big fan. You have almost seemed like family to me ever since you rode 2 year old Riva Ridge to those important victories (including the Garden State Stakes)in 1971. Thanks for all the memories. Saw you on TV at Belmont as you spoke briefly with Bob Baffert after Justify won the Triple Crown. Two legends of the sport greeting one another...a moment to cherish for us all!
