Big Red – Charlie Davis Up Photo

Description

This dynamic image of exercise rider Charlie Davis aboard Secretariat for a morning gallop originates from the renowned collection of imagery by photographer/author Ray Woolfe.

While working for the Daily Racing Form Woolfe extensively documented Secretariat and the entire Meadow stable team throughout the 1972 and 1973 racing campaigns. This particular striking shot captures Davis and Secretariat and the chiseled muscular detail of the chestnut colt exercising at Saratoga racetrack. Measures 8″ x 10″ with larger sizing upon request.

As a special limited offering in conjunction with the anniversary of Charlie Davis’ Feb. 2 birthday, we are delighted to make available a total of only two pieces of this photo hand-signed by Mr. Davis himself.  An absolute collectors’ rarity as only a scant few times was this image ever offered containing the original and distinctive block signature of the late, great exercise rider.

Each signed photo is displayed in a ready-to-hang archival matted classic black wood frame with engraved brass halter tag nameplate and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Strictly available on a first-come basis only.
