Paddock Procession Photo
Description
This extremely limited inventory of photos emanate from the personal collection of the late Meadow Stable exercise rider Charlie Davis. The photos feature Charlie aboard Meadow Stable Appaloosa stable pony Billy Silver, who accompanied Secretariat to the post in several of his races.
This particular image captures the duo as they lead the paddock procession in the 1973 Belmont Stakes, where Secretariat’s 31-length victory would soon become legend. The photo was one of Charlie’s all-time favorites as it shows the heightened anticipation of the gathered crowd and conveys the pride in his position for the Meadow Stable team as well as his place in racing history.
The photos were for Charlie’s personal use during public appearances and a grand total of only 12 remain from his own private collection as part of the Davis family estate. The 8″ x 10″ photo is double matted and accompanied by its own individual certificate of authenticity and enjoy the option of a ready-to-hang black hardwood frame. Available on a first-come basis, only while they last.
