Description

Ruffian’s impressive 8 ¼-length victory in the May 10, 1975 Acorn Stakes at Aqueduct Park was the talk of the track as the undefeated filly notched her eighth consecutive career victory, and once again setting a new stakes record of 1:34 2/5 in the notable 1-mile race. The composite image provides four separate views from the race, including the trophy presentation by racing dignitary Alfred Vanderbilt to Locust Hill owners Stuart and Barbara Janney, jockey Jacinto Vasquez and trainer Frank Whiteley. The Acorn was Ruffian’s first step toward sweeping the New York Filly Triple Crown. Available in 8” x 10” sizing and larger photos upon special request and the option of being hand-signed by Mr. Vasquez.
