Description
The May 31, 1975 Mother Goose Stakes at Aqueduct Park, the second jewel in the Filly Triple Crown, showcased Ruffian with a dominating 13-½ length victory in the 1 1⁄8-mile race in the time of 1:47 4/5 establishing a new stakes record. The interesting six-pane composite photo provides several views from the race including the dramatic start (when Dan’s Commander in the gate adjacent to Ruffian stumbles, dismounting jockey Rudy Turcotte), the stretch run and three views of Ruffian walking to and posing in the winner’s circle. Making the trophy presentation to Locust Hill Farm owner Stuart Janney, trainer Frank Whiteley and jockey Jacinto Vasquez is Mrs. Seth Hancock from Claiborne Farm. Available in 8” x 10” sizing and larger photos upon special request and the option of being hand-signed by Mr. Vasquez.
