Description

We are delighted to offer a limited number of rare archival photo prints of Meadow Stable’s Riva Ridge from the private collection of the acclaimed equine photographer Tony Leonard.

The lesser known stablemate of Secretariat but a champion in his own right, Riva Ridge led the way to glory in both the 1972 Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes. His racing accomplishments in 1971 and 1972 paved the way for Penny Chenery and the Meadow racing stable to continue operations that would ultimately set the stage for Secretariat and his 1973 Triple Crown.

This vintage photo print capturing Riva Ridge in a stately portrait was published in 1975 as part of the photographer’s Magnificent Thoroughbred limited edition series. These scarce original 11″ x 9.5″ prints of the bay champion were produced on the finest art stock, and are offered here in pristine condition. Available with the added bonus of being hand-signed by Riva’s Hall of Fame jockey Ron Turcotte. Celebrate the “other” Meadow Stable Hall of Fame champion who helped save the Farm!
