Steve Haskin Collection

While working for the Daily Racing Form in the early ’70s, Steve Haskin had a premier seat for history in the making. Not only was he getting the personal stories he would later chronicle in his entertaining writing, he was also capturing this amazing time on film in a series of candid photographs of Secretariat and the Meadow Stable team.

In a career that has spanned more than fifty years, Haskin has seen numerous races, interviewed several teams and met a number of equine stars, and the Secretariat story remains one of his favorites. Today, as a renowned author and journalist, Steve continues to reminisce about the 1973 Triple Crown campaign and its impact on the sport.

We are proud to exclusively offer this collection of photos, some never-before-seen, printed from the original negative on the finest archival stock. These cherished images capturing Secretariat, Riva Ridge, Ron Turcotte, Charlie Davis, Eddie Sweat, and other turf champions in a variety of intimate settings, offer an insider’s glimpse and unparalleled view into racing history.
