Description
Featured 12/30/24 in “Patrick Mahones, Meet Buckpasser”
This original track program documents the Oct.19, 1966 Lawrence Realization featuring the heralded racing champion Phipps Stable superstar Buckpasser. Buckpasser’s win in the grueling 1 5/8-mile race marked his 11th consecutive victory as a 3-year-old in his superlative Horse of the Year championship season. Renowned for his determined stretch-running close finishes, Buckpasser’s 1 3/4-mile victory with regular jockey Braulio Baeza aboard, proved to be a relative “romp” in the colt’s storied career.
The program showcases many of the famed riders and trainers of the era, and as an added bonus, the program’s 4th race — a maiden stakes race for 2-year-olds — features Proud Clarion, the future 1967 Kentucky Derby winner. The program is crisp and unmarked and in near-perfect condition. Please inquire for pricing.
